Gendered Innovation in science and technology research is globally acknowledged that it can increase the socio-economic contribution of science and technology research by producing unbiased knowledge and developing products that are suitable for all members of society by using sex and gender analysis.

The purposes of this research are to characterize body shapes of the elderly by gender differences and develop a 3D simulated back corset prototype inclusive for the elderly’s various body shapes. This research was supported by Women in Science, Engineering and Technology through the Center for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (WISET) funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT (Grant No. WISET202003GI01)

과학기술연구의 젠더혁신은 기초, 응용, 사업화 개발에 이르는 연구개발의 전 단계에서 성·젠더 분석을 활용하여 편향성 없는 지식을 생산하고 사회구성원 모두에게 적합한 제품을 개발함으로써 과학기술연구의 사회경제적 기여를 증대시킬 수 있는 것으로 세계적으로 인정되고 있음. 본 연구는 성별에 따라 고령자의 체형을 유형화하고, 다양한 유형을 포괄적으로 수용할 수 있는 요추보조기 원형을 제작하여 3D 시뮬레이션 하는데 목적이 있음.

본 연구는 과학기술정보통신부의 재원으로 한국연구재단의 지원을 받아 수행된 여성과학기술인 육성지원사업 (Grant No. WISET202003GI01)에서 지원받아 수행됨.
