The purpose of this research is to explore emerging virtual technologies for the creation of the digital human body and determine the practical potential of virtual avatars in fashion and clinical applications. This research was/is supported by Colorado School of Public Health Faculty Research Grant (Grant No. 1307986) and Seoul National University New Faculty Startup Fund. 

본 연구의 목적은 3D 바디 스캐닝과 가상현실 기술 등의 삼차원 가상 테크놀러지를 이용하여 디지털 인체 형상을 제작하는 방법을 고찰하고, 제작된 가상 아바타의 다양한 활용 및 고려사항에 대해 연구함. 본 연구는 미국 콜로라도 공중보건대학원 패컬티 연구펀드(Grant No. 1307986)와 서울대학교 신임교수 정착 펀드의 지원을 받아 수행되고 있음.
